OnlyFans vs Fanvue in 2026
OnlyFans and Fanvue take the same cut: 20% of every subscription, tip and paid message, leaving the creator 80%. So the fee is not the reason to pick one, whatever the comparison sites say. The real differences are elsewhere: who can find you inside the platform, how fast money clears, whether AI personas are allowed, and whether any software is allowed to touch your account. Fanvue publishes an open API with OAuth and its own MCP server; OnlyFans has no public API at all. Facts below were read from Fanvue's own policy and help pages on October 23, 2026, and from OnlyFans' terms as reported, since OnlyFans' site blocks the tools we use to read it.
Disclosure first: Smart Post Studio is listed on the Fanvue App Store and schedules Fanvue posts through Fanvue's official API. We have no OnlyFans integration, and nobody honest does. We'll say where OnlyFans is the better pick.
Quick answers
Does Fanvue take less than OnlyFans? Not after the first month. Fanvue's Creator Earnings policy (updated April 22, 2026) sets the standard creator share at 80%, the same as OnlyFans. Fanvue's homepage adds a promotion: 85% for your first month, 80% after.
Which pays out faster? Fanvue's policy says funds clear after a 7-day pending period (up to 28 days for new or flagged accounts) and payout requests are initiated within 10 business days. OnlyFans' hold is commonly reported as about 7 days; we couldn't confirm it on OnlyFans' own pages, so check your Statements tab.
Can I schedule OnlyFans posts with a social media scheduler? No legitimate scheduler can, because OnlyFans has no public API. Use OnlyFans' own post scheduler for the account itself, and a scheduler for the promo posts on X, Instagram, TikTok and Threads that send people there.

Is Fanvue better than OnlyFans for creators?
It depends on where your fans already are, and that one question decides most cases.
OnlyFans wins on recognition. Fans already have accounts there and a card on file. In its financial year to November 30, 2025, press coverage of its filed accounts put fan spending at about $7.8 billion and creator payouts at about $6.2 billion, which is the 80/20 split working at scale. If your audience already says "OnlyFans" when they mean "subscription page," every extra signup step you ask of them costs conversions. A creator moving an existing audience should think hard before asking fans to make a new account somewhere else.
Fanvue wins on everything a builder cares about. It has an official API covering chats, posts, media, subscribers, insights and payments; creators authorize apps with OAuth 2.0, so no app ever holds your password. It has webhooks, an App Store, and its own MCP server for connecting AI assistants. It allows clearly disclosed AI creators, which OnlyFans reportedly does not, and its homepage leads with that. If you run an AI persona, or you want tools that work with your account instead of around it, Fanvue is the only one of the two built for that.
The fee is a tie. Plenty of comparison pages still list Fanvue at 15%. That was a launch promotion. Fanvue's binding policy says 80% to the creator is the standard rate, with any higher promotional rate temporary and set at Fanvue's discretion. Its homepage currently says 85% for your first month and 80% after. Pick on fit, not on a 5% that lasts four weeks.
Payouts and the fine print
Fanvue's Creator Earnings & Payouts policy is short and worth ten minutes. The parts that matter: earnings are calculated before tax and third-party processing charges; funds clear after a 7-day pending period that its risk systems can stretch to 28 days; payout requests are initiated within 10 business days; you have 30 days to dispute a wrong payout; and if your chargeback rate passes 1.5% in any rolling 30 days, Fanvue may charge $50 per additional dispute. Balances you don't withdraw for 12 months are classed as dormant, with reminders first. Withdraw regularly.
For OnlyFans, the 20% fee, the refund and chargeback deductions and the payout-method fees are consistent across every source we found, but we could not load OnlyFans' own terms or help pages to confirm the minimum withdrawal or the exact hold, so we're not printing numbers for them. Your Statements page shows both.
Neither platform will grow you on its own
This is the part both sales pages skip. OnlyFans has no site-wide keyword search, and Fanvue's discovery is a suggested-creators section plus a discoverability setting. On both, nearly every subscriber arrives from outside: X, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Reddit. The platform is the checkout. Social is the storefront.
That makes the weekly promo schedule the actual job, and it's where creators burn out. Five platforms, a few posts each, at the hours your fans scroll, every week. The posts have to be SFW on Instagram, TikTok and Threads, whose rules on adult-adjacent promotion are stricter than X's and Reddit's, and every link-in-bio has to point at the right page. We wrote up the funnel itself in turning free followers into Fanvue subscribers; it works the same for either platform.
What gets creators banned on mainstream platforms
Explicit media on Instagram, TikTok or Threads; direct links to a subscription page in captions where the platform restricts them; mass-DM tools; and engagement bots. Keep teasers SFW, keep the link in your bio, and check each platform's current community guidelines before a campaign, because they change.
About "OnlyFans schedulers" and automation tools
OnlyFans has no public API, no developer documentation and no OAuth. Any tool that claims to post to OnlyFans or run your OnlyFans DMs for you is either scripting a browser logged in as you or calling unofficial endpoints, and either approach risks breaking OnlyFans' terms and getting the account restricted, with your balance held while they review it. That's a lot of risk to save a few minutes, when OnlyFans' own composer already schedules posts for free.
So here is the setup we'd recommend, and the one we built for:
- On OnlyFans: schedule posts with OnlyFans' own scheduler. Nothing third-party touches the account.
- On Fanvue: use Fanvue's Queue, or schedule through an app on Fanvue's App Store that uses the official API, so Fanvue posts sit on the same calendar as your promo.
- On social: schedule the SFW promo funnel on X, Instagram, TikTok and Threads from one calendar, and post to Reddit by hand, since its rules vary by subreddit.
Smart Post Studio does the last two: one calendar for Instagram, Threads, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and Fanvue, $8 a month flat on the Scheduler plan, with a free plan that needs no card. The desktop app publishes from your own machine, so your original files never sit on our servers, and video goes out at the quality you exported it (how that works). Where we're weak for this audience: no Reddit, no inbox or DM management, and analytics are per-platform rather than a dashboard. If you want an AI assistant to draft the week's promo, our MCP connector works with Claude and others, and it can only add posts to your queue, never publish instantly.
Before you schedule, check each video against platform limits with the free video checker and plan your slots with the post time planner; both run in your browser with no account. For timing on Fanvue itself, see the best times to post on Fanvue.
People also ask
What percentage does Fanvue take?
20%. Fanvue's Creator Earnings policy sets the standard creator share at 80% of gross revenue from subscriptions, tips, pay-per-view messages, bundles and custom content. A promotional 85% applies for your first month, per Fanvue's homepage, and Fanvue can change promotional rates at its discretion.
Can you be on OnlyFans and Fanvue at the same time?
Nothing in Fanvue's creator policies we read prohibits it, and many creators run both. Check OnlyFans' current terms for your own account. In practice the risk is splitting a small audience: two links in a bio convert worse than one.
Does Smart Post Studio post to OnlyFans?
No, and we won't, because OnlyFans has no public API and automating it risks your account. We post to Fanvue through its official API and schedule your promo posts on the mainstream platforms.
TL;DR: Both take 20% after Fanvue's first-month 85% promo. OnlyFans has the bigger, already-signed-up fan base. Fanvue has the open API, the MCP server, AI-creator support and a written 7-day clearing policy. Neither brings you traffic; your social promo does, so schedule that, and leave OnlyFans itself to OnlyFans' own scheduler.
