Schedule Fanvue from anywhere
Until this week, scheduling to Fanvue with Smart Post Studio meant one small tax: your computer had to be awake when the post fired. As of today it doesn't. Connect Fanvue in the web app and your scheduled posts publish from our servers — laptop shut, phone in your pocket, you asleep.
If you already use the desktop app for Fanvue, nothing you've set up breaks. This is an additional route, not a replacement, and there's still one case where desktop is the better choice. That's at the bottom.
What changed
Fanvue now appears in Accounts in the web app at app.smartpoststudio.com, alongside Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, X, YouTube and LinkedIn. Click Connect, approve, done.
Once it's connected there, Fanvue behaves like every other cloud-connected platform: you schedule a post, and at the scheduled minute our servers publish it. Your machine's state is irrelevant.
That matters more for Fanvue than for most platforms, because of who posts to it. Creators aren't sitting at a desk at 9pm on a Saturday when the post is due — and "leave your laptop on overnight" is a genuinely annoying thing to ask of someone.
Why this was harder than it sounds
Worth explaining, because it says something about how the product works.
Smart Post Studio publishes from your own computer by default. Your video goes straight from your machine to the platform at original quality, without being uploaded to us, stored, and re-encoded on the way through. That's the whole design, and it's why we don't cap file sizes the way cloud schedulers do.
Cloud publishing is the opposite trade. It's convenient — nothing needs to be running — but the file passes through our infrastructure. Building the cloud publisher for a platform means doing that carefully rather than quickly.
Now both exist for Fanvue, and you pick per platform rather than being stuck with one philosophy for everything.
Which route to use
| Web app | Desktop app | |
|---|---|---|
| Publishes from | Our servers | Your computer |
| Computer must be on? | No | Yes, at the scheduled time |
| Media quality | Standard upload | Original file, untouched |
| Best for | Scheduling ahead, posting from a phone | Large video where quality matters most |
Most people should connect Fanvue in the web app and forget about it. Use desktop when you're posting something where the original file quality is the point — long-form video, high-bitrate footage, anything you shot properly.
One rule worth knowing: a single post can't mix cloud-published and desktop-published platforms. If you've got Fanvue on the web and something else on desktop, that's two posts, and the app will tell you so rather than failing silently.
Cross-posting is the actual point
Scheduling Fanvue on its own is useful. Scheduling it alongside everything else is why we built this.
The typical creator week looks like: one idea, a teaser on Instagram and Threads, a clip on TikTok, and the full thing on Fanvue. That's four platforms, four formats, four sets of rules — and historically, three of them automated and the fourth done by hand at whatever hour it was due.
As far as we can tell, no other mainstream scheduler supports Fanvue at all. Buffer's channel list runs to eleven platforms and Fanvue isn't among them. Nor Later's, nor Hootsuite's. Which means for most creators the platform they actually earn from is the one their tooling ignores.
That's the gap this fills. Write once, pick your platforms, schedule the week, including the one that pays.
If you want your AI to do it
Smart Post Studio speaks MCP, so you can connect Claude, Claude Code or Cursor and ask it to draft and schedule for you — Fanvue included, now that it's cloud-connected. Included on every paid plan, from $8/month.
Nothing your AI creates fires immediately: every post lands in your queue with at least ten minutes before it goes out, badged so you can see an AI wrote it. Setup takes about five minutes and is on the MCP page.
