What 10 clients actually cost on a social media scheduler in 2026
Every scheduler has a cheap headline price. The price that matters is the one you pay once you add the second client, and the tenth. We priced one job, ten clients, on nine tools using nothing but each vendor's own pricing page, read on 29 October 2026. Two versions of the job: a light one where each client has three accounts (30 connected accounts), and a full one where each client is on all eight platforms (80 accounts). Links to every pricing page are at the bottom; if a number is wrong, email us and we'll fix it within a week.
The short answer
Ten clients cost between $18 and $480 a month depending on the pricing unit. Tools that charge per connected account or per channel (Buffer, Publer, SocialPilot) get expensive fastest, and profile tiers (SocialBee) push ten clients straight into agency plans. Tools that charge per workspace (Planable, Later) are predictable but dear. Tools with agency tiers (Breakreach, PostEverywhere) sit in the middle and then charge per account above a cap. Smart Post Studio charges a flat $8 for all eight platforms and sells extra workspaces in packs, 5 for $5 or 10 for $10, which is why the ten-client price is $18 whether the clients use three platforms or eight.
Ten clients, nine tools, two scenarios
| Tool | Pricing unit | 10 clients × 3 accounts (30) | 10 clients × 8 platforms (80) | How it adds up |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Smart Post Studio | Flat per workspace, all 8 platforms | $18/mo | $18/mo | Scheduler $8 + "Workspaces +10" pack $10 (11 workspaces, each with all 8 platforms). With the Writing Studio and Sol: Studio $19 + $10 = $29. |
| Breakreach | Per plan, then per account | $69/mo | $129/mo | Agency $69 includes 50 accounts; $2 per account after. Pro ($49) stops at 15 accounts. |
| PostEverywhere | Per plan + account and workspace add-ons | $79/mo | $229/mo | Scale $39 covers 20 accounts and 5 workspaces; +5 accounts $15, +1 workspace $2. 30 accounts = $39 + $30 + $10; 80 accounts = $39 + $180 + $10. |
| SocialPilot | Account tiers, then per account | $120/mo | $320/mo | Standard $40 monthly (10 accounts) + $4 per extra account is the cheapest route; Premium ($100, 20 accounts) and Ultimate ($200, 40) don't beat it. |
| SocialBee | Profile tiers | from $179/mo | from $179/mo | Bootstrap $29 (5 profiles), Accelerate $49 (10), Pro $99 (25 profiles, 5 workspaces). Thirty profiles already needs the agency plans, listed from $179 monthly. |
| Later | Per "social set" (one profile per platform) | $127.50/mo | $127.50/mo | Growth $37.50 (yearly billing; 2 sets) + 8 extra sets at $11.25. Starter can't add sets. Same price either way because a set already holds one profile per platform. |
| Buffer | Per channel | $150–180/mo | $400–480/mo | Essentials $5 per channel on annual billing, $6 monthly. |
| Publer | Per account | $120–150/mo | $320–400/mo | Professional $4 per account on annual billing, $5 monthly. |
| Planable | Per workspace | $330/mo | $330/mo | $33 per workspace on yearly billing, unlimited users per workspace. Approvals included, which is what you're paying for. |
Not in the table because the job doesn't fit a self-serve plan: Hootsuite (Professional $99 = 1 user, 10 accounts; Team $249 = 20 accounts; beyond that, sales), Vista Social ($99 monthly for 15 profiles and 2 users, X $29/mo extra; more profiles is a higher tier), Agorapulse ($79 per user, 10 profiles shared). Metricool prices per brand with X as a $10 add-on per account; its ten-brand price depends on the tier, so we left it out rather than guess.
Where the gap comes from
Three pricing units are doing the work in that table.
Per channel or per account is the industry default and the most expensive way to run clients, because a client is rarely one account. Buffer's $5 is honest for one channel; it just isn't the number anyone with clients pays. The same applies to Publer, SocialPilot and SocialBee: each extra profile is a line on the invoice.
Per workspace (Planable, Later's social sets) is fairer to the agency because a workspace is roughly a client, but the per-workspace price is set high enough that ten clients still runs $128–330.
Agency tiers with an account cap (Breakreach, PostEverywhere) are the newer model and the best value of the three for mid-size shops, until the cap. Above 50 accounts Breakreach is back to per-account; above 20, PostEverywhere's $15 per five accounts adds up quickly.
Why $18 isn't a loss-leader
Since this is our blog, here is our side plainly. A workspace costs us almost nothing to run: posting isn't metered, the MCP server is a fixed cost, and platform API limits are per app rather than per user. What a workspace does cost is support and a few more connected accounts, so we priced packs at a dollar a workspace rather than free. The AI is where our costs are: the Writing Studio and Sol are on the Studio plans ($11–19) with 300 generations a month as one pool per account, and if ten clients eat through that, top-ups are $19 for 800. An agency that brings its own Claude or ChatGPT over MCP pays us $18 and costs us cents. We'd rather have that customer at $18 than not at all at $69.
What you don't get at $18: team seats with roles and approval workflows. Every Smart Post Studio account is single-user today; if a client has to approve before anything posts, Planable or Breakreach's Pro tier do that properly and we don't. Workspaces are also web-app only for now; the desktop app posts into your main workspace until release 1.8.0.
How to buy the packs
Inside the web app, open the workspace menu and click "+ New workspace"; when you hit your limit the pack picker appears with both options, or buy directly at buy.smartpoststudio.com. Packs attach to any paid plan (Scheduler or Studio), billed monthly ($5 / $10) or yearly ($50 / $100). Free and trial accounts stay at one workspace until you subscribe. One login, one-click switcher, and one MCP connector reaches every workspace: "draft three posts for the bakery and schedule two for the dental practice" is a single conversation.
How we checked
Every number comes from the vendor's public pricing page, read on 29 October 2026 in a logged-out browser: Breakreach, PostEverywhere, SocialPilot, SocialBee, Later, Buffer, Publer, Planable, and our own pricing page. Where a vendor shows annual and monthly prices we give both. Where the job doesn't fit a listed plan we say so instead of inventing a quote. Our wider pricing study, with the "advertised vs real" gap for single users, is at scheduler pricing 2026.
TL;DR: Ten clients cost $18 a month on Smart Post Studio (Scheduler $8 + a $10 ten-workspace pack), $69–129 on Breakreach, $79–229 on PostEverywhere, $120–320 on SocialPilot, $128 on Later, $150–480 on Buffer or Publer, from $179 on SocialBee, and $330 on Planable. The difference is the pricing unit: per channel, per account, per workspace or, in our case, a dollar a workspace. If you need approvals and seats, pay Planable or Breakreach; if you need posts to go out for ten clients, you don't.
