Sol talks back: plan a month in one conversation

S
Sol Ericson Brand storyteller · Smart Post Studio

On Sunday we shipped Sol plans your month: drop in your media, type what you want, get a plan back. It worked, and it felt like filling in a form. Tonight it's a conversation. Open Sol in the web app and she speaks first: "You have 12 unused items in your Library and you're posting to Instagram and Fanvue — want me to plan them?" You say yes, or you say "two a week, start Monday, no TikTok", and the plan appears in the thread. Then you keep talking to it until it's right. She'll also talk back, out loud, in twenty languages. Nothing posts until you press Approve.

2½ minutes, recorded tonight in the web app: Sol answering in Icelandic, Spanish and Chinese, then planning six posts from a batch of photos. Unedited apart from the waits.

Quick answers

What changed? Sol now opens the conversation herself, plans a week or a month across all eight platforms from the media already in your Library, takes edits in plain language ("move post 3 to Saturday 10am", "half the length", "swap the photos on 2 and 4"), and updates the plan cards in front of you. Voice is new too: hold the mic, talk, and she answers in a natural voice in your language.

Where? The web app at app.smartpoststudio.com, on Studio plans and the 14-day trial. The desktop app follows.

What does it cost in AI generations? Changing timing, platforms or rhythm is free. Only rewritten text uses a generation, one per post touched, from the 300 a month on Studio plans. She shows the count before she writes.

How do you plan a month of social media posts in a conversation?

The same four steps as before, except the steps now talk to each other.

1. She notices. When you open Sol, she already knows what's in your Library and which platforms you've connected, so the first message is hers, with tap-to-answer suggestions under it: Plan a week, Plan the month, Just Instagram. If you'd rather drop in fresh media, drop it; she'll ask what you want done with it.

2. You set the rhythm, in your own words. She proposes one — "Instagram 4 a week, Fanvue 3, TikTok for the two videos" — and you talk her into the one you want: "2 a week, start Monday", "only Instagram and Threads", "no videos before Thursday". She confirms, then writes: a caption per platform in your brand voice, hashtags, and a time from your own best-time heatmap.

3. You argue with the plan. This is the part that didn't exist on Sunday. The plan is a set of cards in the thread, and the thread is still open. "Move post 3 to Saturday 10am." "Make that caption half as long." "More hashtags on the Fanvue ones." "Swap the photos on 2 and 4." Each change updates the cards where you're looking, and every reply comes with the next sensible suggestions so you rarely have to type.

4. Approve once. One press schedules the lot into your normal queue, where every post stays editable right up until it goes out. Until that press, nothing has been published anywhere.

She has a voice now

Hold the mic button and say what you want; Sol answers out loud. The voices are natural neural voices, one consistent Sol per language, and she replies in whatever language you write or speak to her. Twenty are covered at launch: English, Icelandic, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Turkish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic and Hindi. The speaker toggle is top-right on the Sol page if you'd rather read.

We tested it tonight in English and Icelandic, which, for a product built by an Icelander, was the one that mattered. It's not a translation layer bolted on afterwards; the captions she writes were already native in 50+ languages, and now the conversation about them is too.

Why a conversation instead of a better form

Because a plan is never right the first time, and the second time is where forms fail. The form version made you re-run everything to change one thing. A conversation lets you change the one thing. It's the same pattern you'll find in Fanvue's Creator Agent and in Higgsfield's assistant — a proactive opener, suggestion chips, cards in the thread — and we're not going to pretend we invented it. What's ours is what the conversation is about: a plan across all eight platforms, built from your own media library, with every caption in a voice you set up once, and an approve button between the model and your audience.

That last part hasn't changed and won't. Sol can plan, write, move, shorten and swap. She cannot post. The MCP connector has the same rule for your own Claude or Cursor: no post-now tool, everything lands in the queue first.

The rules she still follows

No images to TikTok or YouTube. Every caption under the platform's limit. Only platforms you've connected. No time in the past, never two posts on one platform within two hours. Times from your own heatmap, with a sensible default and a note if you haven't generated one yet. Fair-use ceilings of 60 image descriptions a day and 10 planning runs an hour.

Try it

Sign in at app.smartpoststudio.com and open Sol at the top of the sidebar. If your Library is empty, drop a week of photos in first. If your captions come back flat, that's your brand profile asking for two more minutes under Brand → Voice. Studio plans from $11 a month; every new account gets the full 14-day trial, voice included. On the $8 Scheduler plan and the free plan, Sol's planner is locked, but your own AI can do the same job over MCP.

Frequently asked questions

Does Sol post anything by herself?

No. She plans and writes; you approve. Until you press Approve, nothing is scheduled or published. After you approve, posts sit in your queue and can still be edited or cancelled.

Which languages does Sol speak?

Twenty for voice: English, Icelandic, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Turkish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic and Hindi. She answers in the language you use. Written captions cover 50+ languages as before.

Is it in the desktop app?

Not yet. Both features are in the web app at app.smartpoststudio.com today; the desktop app gets them in a coming update.
